Maní (Everything happened) occupies a very special place in the history of the state. This is where Fray Diego de Landa had, as an act of faith, the Mayan codices burned, and where the biggest of the Mayan chieftainships was established.

It is a place full of culture, in which you can visit the Independence Plaza; Plaza of the Ceibas; Candelaria Chapel; the Ex-convent and Temple of San Miguel Arcángel , XVI century, Chapel of San Juan, XVIII century, Chapel of Santa Lucia, XVIII century and Chapel of Santiago, XVIII century; the Temple of the Magdalena is in Tipikal, XVI century.

In Muna (Much closer to the sky) is a temple in honor of the Virgin of Asunción, six chapels dedicated to San Bernardo, San Mateo, San Sebastián, La Soledad, Santa Maria and San Andres, dating from colonial times and the ex-Hacienda San José Tibceh.

Oxkutzcab

Oxkutzcab (Yucatan’s orchard). This town has a long tradition regarding the cultivation of citruses and vegetables. You can taste these products when visiting the municipal market. Among other attractions there are the ex-Convent of San Francisco de Asís, XVIII century; the Hermitage of the Virgin del Pillar, XVII century; the Chapel of San Esteban, XIX century and the ex- Hacienda of Tabi.

It also has archaeological monuments like the caves of Loltún and the archaeological zones of Sayil, Labná, Xlapac, Kom, Kiuic, Oxkutzcab and Sabacché.

Stands out for the style of the Parish of San Mateo. This municipality, besides having the highest point of the peninsula, harbors one of jewels of the Mayan culture: the archaeological site of Uxmal, cradle of the cosmogonic thought of the Mayas, and the obligatory stop in the Puuc Route. There are other archaeological zones of importance and architectonic beauty, like Kabah, Nohpat, Xcoh and Muchich.

Get to know the colonial buildings of the municipality. There is an ex-convent and parish in honor of San Pedro and San Pablo, dating from colonial times; two chapels, one in the municipality capital, constructed in XVIII century in honor of San Esteban, and another one constructed in XVII century in honor of the Indians. Territory where one can find Mayan plinths of remarkable importance and interest. The colonial constructions charm the visitor. Get to know the ex-convent and Parish of San Juan Baptist, XVII century; the Hermitage of San Diego, XVII century; the Chapel of San Francisco and the Chapel of the Eternal Father.

Chacmultún offers a different perception from everything seen before in the pre-hispanic Mayan cities, particularly because of the reddish tonality of the stone, consequence of the microorganisms that live in the place and whose particles, in contact with air and water, redden the stone.

Visit the Chapels of San Enrique and San Juan, as well as the Municipal Palace and the main house of the ex-hacienda Tabí. Among the religious constructions, the ex-Convent and Parish of San Antonio de Padua stand out, as well as the chapels of Santiago, Mejorada, Our lady of Guadalupe, San Roman and San Ramon, all built during colonial times. In Yotholin, the Temple of San Buena Ventura, constructed in the XVIII century, and in Postinuch the ex-convent and Temple of Asunción of the XVIII century, and the Church of the Purest Conception.
