It is located 160 km to the east of the City of Merida, in route to Cancún and the Mayan Riviera. Valladolid is a place where many events in history have taken place. Here began the War of Castes, in 1847, and the first spark of the Mexican Revolution started, in 1910, which is celebrated every year on the 4th of June with various sport and cultural festivities.
It is a beautiful colonial city, located strategically between the city of Merida and the city of Cancún, 40 km away of the majestic Chichén Itzá. Nowadays it is a harmonious union of civil and religious architecture, of note are its fortified convent of San Bernardino de Siena, from the XVI century, and its cathedral of San Servasio, a baroque set from the beginning of the XVIII century; and so many other monuments, such as the Municipal Palace, the Temple of San Juan de Dios, Santa Ana, San Roque, Santa Lucia, the Candelaria, El Telar, El Parque Central.
